Class 9 Bar Mock Trial Competition
A 'brush with the law' for class 9
24th November 2016
Congratulations to 16 students from class 9 who competed against other schools in the south west in Bournemouth.
They worked so hard and were amazing on the day
Mock trials are an effective way of helping young people understand how the legal system works.
In the Bar Mock Trial Competition, students take on the roles of barristers and witnesses and present their case against teams from other schools. First, they have to become familiar with the case, then they have to battle it out in real courtrooms in front of real judges.
Thanks to Danny who lead the project and to Paul Lawton and Ruth Gardiner who filled Paul Hougham shoes at the last minute and enabled the students to compete.
